Union Ministry delegation visits Pulwama to review progress under BBBP initiative

Pulwama: A delegation of Union Ministry led by Assistant   Secretary Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, Amit Pal Singh Wednesday visited here to review the functioning and implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) program.The BBBP initiative was launched throughout the country in 2015 to address the trend of declining child sex ratio (CSR). During the visit, Assistant Secretary expressed his satisfaction over the efforts taken in the district to improve the sex ratio. He praised the efforts of the ICDS and converging departments who adopted local practices and novel methodologies to check the skewing child sex ratio in the district. Resource personnel from the ICDS Department Pulwama demonstrated their action plan to the visiting team.

The function was attended by Program Officer ICDS Mohammad Ahsan Mir, CDPOs, officers from Health and Education Department, Anganwari and ASHA workers.
