Ganderbal/Sept, 20: Police have arrested a youth who they claim murdered a minor boy in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district in a fit of revenge.
12-year-old Faisal Hussain Misger of Buserbugh Alasteng was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in fields near his home on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference here, Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ganderbal Mohammad Khalil Poswal said the case has been solved and the accused has been arrested.
Giving details, the SSP said that a special investigation team was constituted after the incident.
The team rounded up a suspect namely Abrar Majeed (21) a resident of Buserbugh who was later interrogated and he confessed that he murdered 12-year old boy Faisal in a fit of revenge.
Abrar, according to the police, is known for wrongdoings and is a drug addict.
SSP said that the accused had been stalking the sister of the victim and he got infuriated recently when she got married.
In a fit of rage, he said, the accused took Faisal to a nearby orchad and strangulated him to death.
SSP said that the accused has been arrested and further investigations are going on. “We have sent the exhibits of the victim to FSL for further investigations,” he said.
