Anantnag/Kulgam,Sept16: Complete shutdown being observed against the killing of five militants and a civilian in Chowgam village of Kulgam district during Saturday’s gunfight and post gunfight clashes respectively hit normal life on Sunday South Kashmir’s Anantnag and Kulgam districts.
Witnesses aid shops and other business establishments are closed and traffic is off the roads in Devsar, Kulgam, DH Pora, Yaripora and Qaimoh towns and adjacent villages.
Reports said Qazigund town and adjoining areas are witnessing a complete shutdown.
Mir Bazar, Anantnag town and adjoining areas like Dialgam are shut too against the killings.
Five militants and a civilian – all residents of Kulgam and Anantnag districts – were killed in a gunfight and clashes in Chowgam yesterday. Nearly two dozen protesters were injured in clashes near the site of the gunfight.
