Hirdesh reviews power sector schemes in Kathua

Kathua : Commissioner/Secretary Power Development Department, Hirdesh Kumar, Saturday convened a meeting of officers in Kathua to review the progress of various schemes and programs in power sector.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer, EM&RE, Sudhir Gupta, Chief Engineer S&O and Project Wing, Avinash Dubey, Superintending Engineer, Sandeep Seth, ACD, DFOs, Executive Engineers and AEEs of PWD(R&B) & PHE department and other officers.
District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria briefed the meeting about the present electric profile of the district, status of households electrified under several power sche Detail of centrally sponsored schemes viz. cost involved and their completion time were also deliberated upon besides augmentation of PDD infra at industrial area was also highlighted.
Kumar took a comprehensive review of schemes viz Saubhagya, PMDP and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana and directed the concerned for achieving 100% target of electrification/saturation of all households of Kathua under SAUBHAGYA scheme on or before September 30.
He also informed that after achieving the target of 100% electrification a ‘SAUBHAGYA Rath’ will be flagged off in the month of October to cover the length and breadth of the district to make public announcement regarding completion of household electrification in different areas. This would give another chance to the left out families to seek electricity connection and help us to achieve our mark, he added.
Kumar asked the DDC to allot land for establishing receiving stations at village Logate, Tandi, Dhar Mahanpur and Duggan for developing power infrastructure.
He further divulged that a monitoring committee will be constituted to remove bottlenecks of ongoing power projects, if any, besides the members will meet after 15 days for systemic review.
Kumar also directed the concerned officers to layout the complete transmission infra for receiving power from Shahpur Kandi project from January next year.
Shifting of PDD office from Kathua main bazaar for which the Commissioner/Secretary sanctioned Rs 50 Lakhs, progress of RAPDRP scheme for Kathua town, revenue realization, metering and staff strength at far flung areas were other issues which were also discussed threadbare.
