Pattan observes shutdown against shifting of Trauma hospital to SDH Pattan

Srinagar: A complete shutdown was observed in Pattan town of Baramulla District against the BMO Pattan and shifting of SDH Pattan to newly trauma Hospital Pattan.
On the Call of Trader’s Union Pattan all the business establishments remained closed in the town. Shopkeepers and Civil Society members of the area assembled on Srinagar Muzafarabad Highway near Pandow Park Pattan and staged protest against the decision of government for shifting of Sub District Hospital Pattan to newly constructed Trauma Hospital.
They described BMO Pattan as anti-people who according to protesters is callous towards the hardships of people.
Protesters chanted slogans against Block Medical Officer Pattan.
Protesters requested Advisor to Governor that Trauma Hospital Pattan has been constructed for Trauma Care as well as for road traffic accident victims and it should function separately.
The traffic was disrupted for hours due to protest. SDM and Tehsildar Pattan pacified protesters and assured them the matter will be taken up with the higher authorities. (CNS)
