Fin Comr (H&UD) briefs Guv at Raj Bhavan Srinagar

Srinagar : K.B. Agarwal, Financial Commissioner Housing and Urban Development Department, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here Monday.
Agarwal briefed Governor about the functioning of the Department and the steps being taken by the Department for improving basic infrastructure facilities in the cities and towns of the State and the to-date implementation status of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes in the Department. He informed Governor about the important elements of the Srinagar and Jammu Master Plans and initiatives taken under various schemes for planned development of the Holy city of Katra. He also briefed Governor about conservation of Lakes and water bodies in the State and the steps initiated for restoration of the Dal lake.
Governor advised Agarwal to ensure effective implementation of steps to secure decongestion in the cities, removal of encroachments and strict adherence to building bye-laws for maintaining a satisfactory environment in the towns and cities. He directed Agarwal to achieve speedy results to restore the Dal to its erstwhile glory.
