Srinagar/Sept, 7: Police on Friday said that the body of minor girl who, police believes, was gang raped and murdered in Boniyar area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district last week will be exhumed today.
“Body of minor girl of Boniyar will be exhumed today in order to clarify certain more medico-legal aspects which earlier doctors while performing autopsy could not do,” said SSP Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain.
He said a team of doctors including experts in forensic medicine from GMC Srinagar has reached Boniyar where exhumation will be done.
The police on Wednesday said the 9-year-old girl from Uri has been gang raped and murdered after her decomposed body was recovered from a forest area ten days after she went missing.
The police has arrested the victim’s stepmother, stepbrother and three others in connection with the case.
