On teachers day Police foils ReT teachers protest march in Srinagar, cane charge teachers

Srinagar : Police foiled the march of Rehabar e taleem teacher near Shair- e- kashmir park Srinagar on Wednesday when they were trying to March towards SKICC where teachers day was celebrating.
Thousands of Rehabar- e -taleem teacher of the state celebrates teachers day as black day as a mark of protest on wednesday in favour of their demand specially implementation of seventh pay commission.
Hundreds of RET teachers across the state assembled in shair-e-kashmir park Srinagar wearing with black dresses and bands shouted slogans against the callous attitude of government towards the 40 thousand RET teachers of the state and tried to march towards SKICC but police stopped them .
Dozens of teachers injured after police lathi charged and water canning on them.
Forum chairman Farooq Ahmed Tantary ,Patron BA dar, Gen sec Jhangir Alam Khan,Talib Hussain, Iqbal bhat, MA wani, ZD beigh, Aftab Malik, Rahi Irshad ,Khalid Rafiq, Mohammad Yakoob, Aftab tantary, Intikhab Alam, and other leaders of the RET teachers were arrested by the police .The protest call was given by the J&K ReT teachers forum.

Chairman of the forum Farooq Ahmed Tantary while addressing the agitated teachers said that authorities forced teachers to celebrate this day as black day .He said that this day is for teachers but unfortunately we are celebrating this day as black day due to non implementation of seventh pay commission in thier favour. Forum leaders said that they are not demanding any thing new but they are appealing to release their genuine right which were held by the government due to unknown reasons.
They said that they are on roads from past more than four months for their genuine right seventh pay commission but government takes deaf ears towards this issue.
They said that they are regularized under state government order and were given all benifts of state government employes including sixth pay commission in past but their 7th pay commission were stopped reason best known to government.
The said that non release of seventh pay commission in thier favour is injustice with the 40 thousand teachers of the state. They said that if the pay commission were not released soon then were intensify their strike.
