Srinagar/Sept,4 : Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday appointed Dr B Srinivas a J&K cadre IPS officer of 1990 batch as the new additional Director General of police (ADGP), CID and Ab Gani Mir a J&K cadre IPS officers of 1994 batch as new Additional Director General of Police headquarters at Police Headquarters (PHQ) .
An order issued by the Home Department of the Jammu & Kashmir Government said ” Dr B Srinivas,IPS (JK 1990) awaiting orders of posting is posted as ADGP, CID vice A G Mir,IPS (JK 1994). A.G.Mir,IPS (1990) ADGP CID is transferred and posted as ADGP ,headquarters,PHQ against an available vacancy”. It is in place to mention here that A G Mir was appointed ADGP CID when S M Sahai was removed as ADGP CID and sent on deputation to central government. Mir had taken over as ADGP CID when the killing of top Hizb Ul Mujahideen commander had triggered massive unrest in Kashmir valley. Earlier Mir held the coveted position of IGP (Kashmir Range) with distinction.
