Municipal Polls: ROs, AROs imparted spl training at Budgam

Budgam : With the commencement of dates for the upcoming 4 phase Municipal Body Elections scheduled between Ist to 5th of October 2018, a meeting of ROs, AROs designated was convened here under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam Khursheed Ahmad Shah to review the preparedness and related arrangements for smooth conduct of the whole process.

Briefing the meeting, the ADC said Budgam District has 6 Municipal Bodies located in Budgam, Chadoora, Chareshareef, Khansahab, Beerwah and Magam. There are 72 total wards were elections will be held, of these 72, 13 wards each are in Charar-e-Shareef, Budgam, Beerwah, Magam, Chadoora and 7 in Khansahab. He said the process of Designation of ROs, AROs has already been done. He said the election machinery is fully prepared to conduct the requisite process satisfactorily. He said the administration is going to launch a sustained campaign to sensitize the voters about the importance of these elections as these are necessary for socio-economic development at the grass root level.

During the training session a power point presentation regarding scrutiny, filling up of nominations, rejection of nominations, qualification of nominations, completion of polling process till the conclusion of the declaration of the results were presented.

On conclusion the ADC impressed upon all ROs, AROs designated to cooperate fully with the administration in negotiating all requirements for the smooth conduct of electioneering.
