Two army soldiers injured in firing during search operation in Bandipora forest

Bandipora : Two Army soldiers were injured in an accidental exchange of gunfire during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in a forest area of this north Kashmir district.
Friday morning, the soldiers fired some warning shots after observing suspicious movement in the area. In the meantime, two army men who were part of the search party suffered bullet wounds, they said.
Official sources told Kashmir Horizon that the incident took place during an ongoing search operation launched by the army’s 27 RR a week ago in the woods of Chaan Daji and Dani Behak area.
Army sources told Kashmir Horizon that three soldiers sustained minor injuries when two search parties mistakenly opened fire at each other at Dani Behak forests of Chandaji here.
The injured soldiers have been removed to the hospital. Their condition is said to be stable.
SSP Bandipora, Sheikh Zulfikar told Kashmir Reader that police have sent a team to the spot to verify the facts.
“Since the area is remote and communication is an issue, it takes time to collect the details,” he said
