Srinagar : Peoples Democratic Party got a shot in the arm when a leading legal luminary of Pir Panchal region and former MLC, Advocate Murtaza Khan rejoined the Party here Saturday.
Considered as one of the founding members of PDP, Khan had left the Party before 2014 Assembly elections. However, describing PDP as the beginning of his political struggle and absence from it as nightmarish, Murtaza Khan reposed full confidence in the Party leadership and vowed to work under its leadership.
Welcoming Murtaza Khan back into the Party, PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti described it as his home coming and expressed the hope that the Party would get further strengthened with his return back to the party fold. She said PDP, all along, has remained a platform for the right thinking people who seriously wish to take Jammu & Kashmir out of the difficult situations it is presently in.
Senior leader and MP, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, senior leaders Abdul Haq Khan, Abdul Rehman Veeri, Ch Zulufkar Ali, Syed Basharat Bukhari and Syed Altaf Bukhari welcomed Murtaza Khan into the Party fold.
