Public outrage against Farooq Abdullah during Eid prayers at Dargah Hazratbal for shouting slogans “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “ Jai Hind” at a BJP conclave called to tribute former Prime Minister Attal Bihari Vajpayee is not as much against India as a state as much it is against senior Abdullah’s fillip flop over the current phase of public uprising vis-à-vis the demands for dialogue with the separatists in Kashmir and the new Government in Pakistan. People of Jammu & Kashmir know it well that Farooq Abdullah is always desperate to condemn them when he sees an opportunity to grab power through his dirtiest tricks of political appeasement. Till the PDP and BJP were in alliance for sharing power in the state Farooq Abdullah uses to make high pitch noises against the BJP but barely a month after the fall of the Mehbooba led PDP-BJP coalition government Farooq has started appeasing BJP top brass. Farooq as usual won’t bother to recall his subbing by Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he blamed him, his father and even son for all the mess that a heavy toll of the people in Kashmir. Farooq Abdullah may not remember but people of Jammu & Kashmir remember it very well that barely a year ago Modi blamed him , his father (late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah) and son Omar Abdullah for all the mess which have taken a heavy toll of the people of Kashmir and even blamed them for the migration of Kashmiri Pandit’s from the valley. Condemned only a year ago for seeking dialogue with separatists and Pakistant by Prime Minister Narendra Modi the three time former chief minister Farooq Abdullah and leader of old mass based mainstream political party did not bother to show dirtiest intents of appeasement for power he not only shouted slogans “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “ Jai Hind” at the BJP conclave called for tributing former Prime Minister Attal Bihari Vajpayee but he was also seen thrilled to come on the Republic TV and get accolades from the widely condemned TV anchor Arnab Goswami. Interestingly Farooq Abdullah tended to show more interest in playing tricks of political appeasement when he appeared at the Srinagar International Airport to receive new governor Satya Pal Malik but was given a chance to shake hands with Malik last of all and surprisingly he was the only mainstream politician to come to the airport for receiving the new governor .
Had Farooq Abdullah even little bit of concern for the concerns of the people who allowed three generations of his family to rule the state, he won’t have preferred appeasement over the aspirations of the people of his own constituency which he represents right now.
In fact shouting slogans “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Jai Hind” at a BJP conclave called to tribute former Prime Minister Attal Bihari Vajpayee reminded people of his BJP appeasement practices which he demonstrated before the Vajpayee led NDA government lost trust vote by a single vote of the then NDA ally National Conference . The man who dared to defy Farooq Abdullah’s whip and leave the party was Saif Ud Din Soz who joined Congress party later. Farooq Abdullah known for his political appeasement tricks did not bother to ally with Congress party in 2009 under the leadership of Saif-Ud-Din Soz and he was not hesitant even in taking dictations from Soz as head of the Congress party in the state. The man to whom Farooq Abdullah had shown the door as National Conference President was easily dictating terms to him and his chief minister son Omar Abdullah on almost every policy decision for six long years (2009-2015). Much before 2009 Farooq Abdullah had stooped down too low to ally with Congress in the year 1987. Upset by his ouster from power in 1986 by the G M Shah led breakaway group of his party with the support of Congress party Farooq Abdullah choose to be the ally of the same party in 1987 which dethroned him in 1986. After the dismissal of the G M Shah government due to the withdrawal of support by the Congress party Farooq Abdullah took oath from the then Governor Jagmohan as Chief Minister of NC-Congress coalition government and after taking oath as Chief Minister he in full public glare at the oath taking ceremony told Jagmohan “Pull my ears if I commit a mistake again”. Imagine what people of Kashmir can expect from a man who as chief minister can come down too low to ask governor of his state to pull his ears if he commits a mistake. This time he is the eldest mainstream politician at the age of 81 in the state but takes pride in being a parliament member with a victory margin of few thousands on just all time low 7% turn out. A three time former chief minister loosing Lok Sabha election three years ago and wining an accidental bye election with the support of Congress party on 7% turn out is abusing the people who did not want him to join the Eid congregation with the intent of selling his fake popularity in Delhi’s political markets. Had Farooq Abdullah even little bit of concern for the concerns of the people who allowed three generations of his family to rule the state, he won’t have preferred appeasement over the aspirations of the people of his own constituency which he represents right now.
