407 cases settled in Lok Adalat held at Jammu

Jammu : A Lok Adalat was held in the premises of District Court Complex Janipur, Jammu, under the Chairmanship of Vinod Chatterji Koul, (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) who is also the Chairman of District Legal Services Authority, Jammu.
A total number of 422 cases were taken up out of which 407 cases were disposed off. A total amount of Rs 10,274,603 was settled in the Lok Adalat.
To settle the cases in the Lok Adalat, a total of eight benches were constituted.
Bench no. 01 comprising of Pr. District & Sessions Judge Jammu, V C Koul and Presiding Officer, MACT Jammu Jatinder Singh Jamwal, dealt with MACT cases. Bench no. 02 comprising of Special Judge, Anti Corruption, CBI Cases Jammu, Mohan Lal Manhas and Special Railway Magistrate, Jammu, Yahya Firdous Ahangar, dealt with Matrimonial cases.
To deal with Bank Cases, Bench no. 03 was comprised of Additional District Judge (Bank Cases) Jammu. Bala Jyoti and City Judge Jammu Surinder Singh. Bench no. 04 comprising of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu, Ashwani Kumar Sharma, and 2nd Additional Munsiff, Jammu, Madhu Khajuria, dealt with Criminal & Petty offences.
Bench no. 05 comprising of Sub-Judge, Jammu Kusum Lata Pandita, and Sub Registrar, Jammu, Swati Gupta, dealt with Civil Cases. Bench no. 06 comprising of Special Electricity Mobile Magistrate, Jammu, Sudhir Khajuria, and Special Mobile Magistrate, P&T Jammu, Manjeet Rai, dealt with cases related to Electricity and Passenger Tax.
To deal with Municipality related cases, Bench no. 07 was presided over by Special Municipal Magistrate, Jammu, Manoj Parihar. Bench No. 08 comprising of Special Mobile Magistrate, Traffic, Jammu, Amit Sharma, and Additional Mobile Magistrate, Traffic Jammu, Salahuddin Ahmed, dealt with Traffic related Cases.
