Article 35-A row: Hurriyat (G) holds protest in Srinagar

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) organized a strong protest March giants tinkering of Article 35-A by the supreme court of India, at Hyderpora chowk today. Terming the tailoring of numerous conspiracies to change the demography of the state as a worst type of cultural aggression, Hurriyat Conference leaders while chanting slogans in favour of Right to self-determination reiterated its unwavering commitment to foil down all the nefarious designs of India.
Before congregational prayers on Friday today, senior Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Aataie addressing the gathering said that any proposed fiddling of Article 35-A shall be fought unitedly and we shall render any sacrifice to disallow any legal or political move which might have devastating effect on our Muslim majority character of the state.
Those who participated in the protest march included Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Bilal Sidiqui, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Nisar Hussain Rather, Bashir Ahmad Andrabi, Khawaja Firdous Wani, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Syed Mohammad Shafi, Imtiyaz Haider, Maqbool Magami, Mohammad Hanief Dar, Haji Qadous, Mohammad Imran, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Abdul Rashid Lone, Parvez Ahmad Bhat and Nisar Ahmad Khan.
Seeking optimum support of the general public belonging to all walks of life, Hurriyat leaders expressed satisfaction on the unanimous role displayed on several occasions in the recent past events. We salute the solidarity shown by the people to defend their legitimate movement for right to self-determination and hope that the freedom loving people of Jammu and Kashmir shall rise to the occasion to safeguard their exemplary sacrifices and shall never permit any leader or a group of leaders to dare for a sellout.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Geelani in his condolence message on the demise of Kuldeep Nayer, a renowned journalist of India. Hurriyat leader said that as a professional journalist, he was one of my close friends. Extending his sympathies with the grief stricken family of the deceased, Hurriyat leader expressed regrets for not being able to pay condolences to the family of the deceased, in person due to continuous house arrest at his residence, said Geelani.
