Mount Arafat: Dr Hussein bin Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, Imam of Masjid-e-Nabawi, while addressing the Hajj pilgrims on Monday from Masjide Namrah asserted that only Tauheed, believing in oneness of God, will lead to path of success.

“All prophets of God invited humanity to Tauheed, and only believing in it will lead to path of success,” he said while delivering the Hajj Sermon in the presence of over 02 million Muslims who stood on Plains of Mount Arafat to perform Hajj on Monday August 21.

Tawhid (Arabic: توحيد‎ tawḥīd, meaning “oneness [of God]” also romanized as tawheed, touheed, or tevhid) is the indivisible oneness concept of monotheism in Islam. Tawhid is the religion’s central and single-most important concept, upon which a Muslim’s entire faith rests.

Dr Hussein bin Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh said that Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam which has been made obligatory for affluent. He also said that Allah has ordered to practice best manners with parents, neighbours, relatives and others in any society.

“Give respect and importance to your parents and teachers. Strengthen your relation with the Holy Quran,” Dr Hussein bin Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, Imam of The Prophet’s Mosque, said while delivering the Hajj Sermon on Monday.

“Islam forbids us from indulging in sins. It propagates harmony and brotherhood amongst Muslims”, he added.

Dr Hussein bin Abdelaziz Al al-Sheikh, the Imam and Preacher of the Prophet’s Mosque, is also a judge in the Holy City of Madinah.

He also takes classes on Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) and Hadith (the traditions or sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, revered and received as a major source of religious law and moral guidance). He regularly delivers several lectures in Riyadh’s main mosques.

Before delivering the Hajj Sermon, Dr Hussein bin Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh led Zuhr and Asr prayers combined as per the tradition of Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him).

After Zuhr and Asr prayers and Hajj Sermon, pilgrims moved from Namrah to the Plains of Aaraft. They stayed there till sunset, chanting Talbiyah – Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik, and praying for the wellbeing of the self, their families, relatives and others, also seeking the blessings of Allah, The Almighty, to restore peace and harmony in the world.

After the sunset, the pilgrims headed to Muzdalifah. In Muzdalifah, Hajj pilgrims engaged in prayers until midnight after performing Maghreb and Isha prayers combined. They moved to Mina Tuesday mornin for “stoning of the devil” ritual. After stoning the devil, they will sacrifice animals and move back to Makkah for Tawaf. They will return back to Mina after Tawaf and stay in Mina for 2-3 days.

Muslims sacrifice animals to commemorate the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim, his noble wife Hager and their son Prophet Ismael (peace be upon all of them).
