During the inspection, the checking squad team realised a fine of Rs. 4200 on various shopkeepers violating the legal regulations and also urged upon the people to avoid the use of polythene so that pollution can be minimised.
The checking team also visited various places where sacrificial animals, poultry birds, fish have been kept for sale by dealers and directed them to charge the rate approved by the government and display the rate list.
During the special drive Rs. 6500 was realised as fine from 85 offenders. Besides some eatable items, vegetables were destroyed on spot. The team also seized a large quantity of polythene from shopkeepers and store owners.
