Jammu: At least six persons including a minor were killed and seven injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling hit by landslide in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
“Six persons who were heading towards Machail Mata pilgrimage in Kishtwar from Udhampur died this afternoon and seven injured when a vehicle they were travelling in came under boulders and debris near Kulligad on Kishtwar-Paddar road at Drabshalla,” police here said.
They said that four persons died on the spot while two others including a minor girl succumbed to injuries in Kishtwar hospital.
Police said that the devotees were on way to Gulabgarh to perform pilgrimage to Mata Machail, which will conclude onSeptember 5.
However, some of the seriously injured are also being airlifted to Jammu for specialied treatment.
Four of the deceased were identified as Subash Chander (45) from Seri Bhadrwaha, his wife Reeta Devi, Kalyan singh from Seri Bhadrwaha, and Mohan Singh from Udhmpur.
