Srinagar /Aug, 16 : A total shutdown to remember four civilians killed on this day in the year 2016 is being observed in Aripanthan town of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district today. Total shutdown has hit the normal life in the area.
Four civilians, Mohammed Ashraf Wani, Manzoor Ahmad Lone, Javaid Ahmad Sheikh and Javaid Ahmad Najar were killed while as half a dozen civilians were injured after forces opened fire on protesters on August 16, 2016, local sources said alleging “forces action was unprovoked and unjustified”.
All shops, business establishments and school are closed in the town however traffic was plying.
Meanwhile people in large numbers are attending the families of the slain civilians to express condolences to them.
