Jammu : Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma Tuesday asked Deputy Commissioners to facilitate introduction of Indian Postal Payment Banking(IPPB) being launched countrywide by Prime Minister on August 21, 2018.
Chairing a meeting attended by DCs of Rajouri, Ramban, Kathua and Udhampur through video conference, the Div Com briefed them about the launch and role of the local administration in facilitating the postal dept for introduced this unique banking facility in far flung areas .
ADDC Jammu Suraiya Jabeen, Director Postal Services Gaurav Shrivastava, Senior Superintendent Postal Services J.R. Angural and others and senior officers were also present in the meeting.
The Director Postal Services informed that the Indian Post Payment Bank would provide banking facility in the areas where banks are not available.
The Div Com directed Deputy Commissioners to cooperate with Postal Services Department and identify areas where IPPB would be beneficial for the people. He also directed for holding awareness camps to educate the people about the Indian Post Payment Bank system.
