Srinagar: The Governor N N Vohra was today informed that all the arrangements are in place for operating night flights from the Srinagar International Airport.
During the course of a meeting convened here today to review the progress of key developmental projects in Public Works sector, the Principal Secretary Planning, Development and Monitoring, Rohit Kansal informed the Governor that all the requisite arrangements including security and logistics have been put in place by the Air Force, Airports Authority of India and the State Government authorities for facilitating night landing of flights at the Srinagar Airport.
Kansal said the trial run of the night flights will be done tomorrow at the airport with the Go Air operating its first commercial night flight to Srinagar.
Hailing the operationalization of night flights at Srinagar Airport, the Governor congratulated the concerned authorities for this significant development which he said would go a long way in promoting tourism and business activities in the State. (KNS)
