SSB approves 624 selections including 392 posts of Lab Assistants

Srinagar: J&K Services Selection Board (SSB) Saturday approved 624 selections for different posts including 392 posts of Laboratory Assistants for 18 districts.
The selections were approved at JKSSB’s 140th Board meeting convened here Saturday under the Chairmanship of Chairman, SSB, Mr Zubair Ahmad.
This was the first meeting of the Board convened under the chairmanship of Mr Zubair who assumed office as Chairman SSB last month.
The Board also approved the result and shortlists for the posts of General Line Teachers of 14 districts including Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, Shopian, Srinagar, Samba, Udhampur, Reasi and Rajouri, which were referred to SSB for selection.
According to Mr Zubair, the selection for 392 posts of Laboratory Assistants includes for the districts of Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, Poonch, Srinagar, Samba, Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri, Kathua, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar.
He said various pending requisitions for Forest Guard posts of the districts of Kupwara, Srinagar, Baramulla and Social Forestry Workers of Kashmir Division were also released for being forwarded to the Government. The Board had earlier forwarded the selection lists to the Government in respect of other requisition of Forest Guards of various districts, he said.
Mr Zubair said to expedite the decisions in the cases of candidates whose selections have been withheld for want of some documents and clarifications; the Board has constituted an in-house sub-committee to clear such recommendations. He said the committee shall meet on weekly basis.
Saturday’s Board meeting was also attended by the Members including Ms Ruksana Gani, Mohammad Akbar Wani, Mohammad Sultan Malik, Anil Koul, Ms Rachna Sharma, Vivek Sharma, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Shafqat Iqbal, Musheer Ahmad Mirza, Nawab Din, Mohammad Saleem, Dr Nirupa Rai, Professor Tasleema Peer and Ranjeet Singh, Secretary, SSB.
