Poonch resident working as labourer shot dead in Saudi Arabia

Jammu: A 35-year-old man from Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir was shot dead in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
Reports said that Zulfikar Ahmad of Keri Gultha village in Mendhar tehsil of the district was shot dead by a Saudi man following a tiff over some issue in Tareeb area of Saudi Arabia where he worked as a labourer. The accused, according to the report, has been arrested by the Saudi authorities.
His family has now urged the government of India through External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to see that the body is brought back home in Poonch for last rites.
“We are very poor and we have requested the government of India especially Minister for external affairs Sushma Swaraj to ensure that body is brought to Poonch for last rites,” said the father of the deceased. He said the deceased is survived by a three-month-old baby.
