Srinagar: Dispelling the perception of common people that rickshaw drivers do not observe strike, ‘All Kashmir Auto Rickshaw Drivers Association’ Friday said that they will follow the call of Joint Resistance Leadership in letter and spirit on August 5 and 6 against the move to abrogate Article 35A.
Showkat Ahmed, President ‘All Kashmir Auto Rickshaw Drivers Association’ said that being the part of the society it is an obligation and duty of rickshaw drivers to follow the strike call given by JRL in support of Article 35A.
“We always support strike calls but there are some people mostly government employees who operate during strike days. It is not our fault. This time we have a common cause and we are one among the 27 organizations that are supporting the program forwarded by Joint Resistance Leadership,” Showkat Ahmed said.
As a president, i appeal all the auto drivers not to operate on August 5 and 6, he said.
