Poonch: Welcoming the stand of Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra on the issue related to Article 35A, National Conference leader Ajaz Jan today said that Government of India should ensure safeguarding state’s special status, press statemet issued here said.
He also expressed his fear towards ill-consequences in state if Article 35A is fiddled with.
According to the statement, Jan was addressing in a meeting held at Poonch.
In this meeting, joining programme was also held and prominent civil society members including Retired Joint Director Planning, Chowdhary Badar Din Kalas, Retired BSF Inspector Mohd Farid Bhatti and others joined National Conference.
New comers said that pro-people policies of National Conference are immediate need of hour in state to restore complete normalcy as previous BJP-PDP Government has left state of Jammu and Kashmir in a state of chaos.
They said that National Conference is all set to sweep from all legislative assembly segments of Poonch and Rajouri.
In his address,Youth NC Provincial President Ajaz Jan said that joining of new faces in large number clearly represents the growing strength of NC in Poonch.
He said that, in recent days, hundreds of new faces including several noted leaders have joined NC
Ajaz Jan also shared his views on special status of Jammu and Kashmir state and said that it’s duty of central government to safeguard special status of state.
He also endorsed the statement of Jammu and Kashmir Governor to defer the court hearing of case on Article 35A till an elected government comes in office in state.
He further said that state’s special status (Article 35A) is associated with emotions of people of state and any attempt to fiddle with it can lead to ill-consequences and central leadership should take proper care of emotions of people of this state.
