Srinagar: Former chief minister and PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday exuded confidence that telephonic talk between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan’s would be Prime Minister Imran Khan will lead to a sustainable thaw in strained Indo-Pak relations. Mehbooba also congratulated Imran Khan on the victory of his party in Pakistan’s general elections.
Taking to micro-blogging social networking website Twitter, Mehbooba wrote, “Hope this goes beyond optics and leads to a sustainable thaw between both India and Pakistan.”
Yet in another tweet, Mehbooba wrote “congratulations to @ImranKhan PTI on his victory his hard work and tenacity won the day.”
As already reported PM Modi Monday evening called up Pakistan would be PM and victorious Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chief, Imran Khan and congratulated him on his party’s victory in the recently held general elections in Pakistan.
In his telephonic talk with Imran Khan, PM Modi reiterated his commitment to the agenda of peace and development in his country’s neighbourhood.
It is in place to mention here that Mehbooba Mufti in her immediate reaction to the victory of Imran Khan’s PTI in recently held general elections had impressed upon the PM Modi rto respond positively to the call for dialogue on Kashmir extended by Imran Khan in his maiden speech after his party’s victory in the elections.
