J&K Government reconstitutes SKIMS governing body

Srinagar/July,29:  Jammu & Kashmir Government on Sunday reconstituted governing body of S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Sour Srinagar.

An order issued by the Jammu & Kashmir Government reads ” In supersession of all previous orders on the subject, sanction is hereby accorded to the re-constitution of governing body for Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura, Srinagar as follows”

Governor N N Vohra, according to the order, would be the chairman of the body. His three advisors, chief secretary J&K, Director AIIMS New Delhi (or one of his deans in absence of the director), Prof M S Khuroo (former director and dean SKIMS Soura), Dr Puneet Dhar (chairman Gastroenterology Surgery and Liver Transplant  Services, AIMS, Kochi, Kerala), nd two principals of GMC Jammu and Srinagar would be the members of the body. Director SKIMS would be the Member Secretary of the body.

Administrative secretaries of Planning and Development, Finance, and Health and Medical Education have been appointed as advisors to the body.Principal secretary to the governor, Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS and Deputy Secretary to Govt of India, MOH&FW (Cancer Research Desk) have been appointed as Special invitees.“It is further ordered that the term of private members on the governing body  of SKIMS shall be five years,” said the order.
