Srinagar: The Jammu Kashmir Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association Saturday said that they will observe pen down strike on August 2 next month if pay anomaly proposal is not placed before upcoming State Administrative Council meeting.
They said that undue delay and failure of the government have created hardships for them.
The Jammu Kashmir Ladakh All Departments clerical Staff Association Chairman Ali Mohammad Mir said that non-serious attitude of the government has created uncertainty among the whole cadre and the cruel un due delay has provoking tehm to adopt the path of agitation again.
He said that they called a meeting in which he apprised the participants that the issue was due to be addressed in the SAC meeting held on Wednesday, 25th July, 2018 as the same stood cleared by Finance Department and by the Advisor to Governor, but the release of the SAC meeting again disappointed the cadre.
The leaders present in the meeting said that the Demand of Removal of Pay Anomaly/Disparity stand already examined and recommended by two highly empowered committees via Vyas Committee of 2007 and Khanday committee 2012 but these recommendations were put in cold storage and were not implemented in favour of the clerical cadre. However, to get this long pending demand resolved, the Association decided to start protest/strike from 16th April 2018 which stagnated whole State Administration and then the Ex. Finance Minister Mr. Syed Altaf Ahmad Bukhari, conveyed a meeting of the Government with the Representatives of the Association and the Meeting was also attended by Former Chief Secretary, B B Vyas, Principal Secretary Finance to Government, Naveen Chodhary and Mr Rafiq Andrabi, Director Codes and the demand of the Pay Disparity was agreed in principal with the commitment to resolve the issue through cabinet within three weeks with outer limit of one month but the issue remained unresolved owing to collapse of the collation Government.
The Association appealed Governor to redress the long pending issue by placing and approving it in upcoming SAC council.
