Kargil: Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer LAHDC Kargil, Vikas Kundal Saturday held a meeting with Director General Sericulture here Saturday to discuss measures to promote sericulture in Kargil.
The Director-General Sericulture informed the DC about the functioning of Sericulture Development Department in the state as well as the introduction of innovative steps for establishment of Sericulture activities and Sericulture Development Board in the district.
Members present in the meeting maintained that the establishment of departmental mulberry nurseries and other sericulture activities in the district will not only help the needy and downtrodden people but would also pave way for the generation of employment to the qualified unemployed youth.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kargil, District Soil Conservation Officer Kargil, officers of Forest and Soil Conservation besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
