Advisor (V) interacts with public delegations in Jammu

Jammu: For speedy and outcome-oriented resolution of public grievances, Advisor to Governor, B.B Vyas Friday convened public outreach programme in Jammu under the aegis of JK Governor’s Grievance Cell in which more than 1200 people including 110 delegations apprised him of the problems being faced by them.

During the eight-hour long interactive session, several deputations from Kathua, Samba, Rajouri, Reasi, Doda, Udhampur, Poonch, Ramban and Kishtwar including employees’ unions, social organizations, Non-Government Organizations, Traders Associations, Kashmiri Migrants, Border residents, delegations from rural areas and individuals informed the Advisor about their grievances related to road connectivity, power and water supply, removal of pay anomaly, removal of encroachments, sanitation and other related issues.

The J&K Co-operative Union Ltd. demanded restoration of education and training programme according to the registered bye-laws under Cooperative Society Act, Daily Wagers of various departments demanded their regularization while as delegation of Sports instructors of J&K State Sports Council demanded regularization of their services in accordance with Prime Minister’s Special Package, Stone Crushers Association demanded e-tendering for auctioning crushing blocks, while as some deputations projected their demands including non-disbursement of pensions among old age, widows and specially-abled persons, installation of power transformers in their respective areas, clearance of liabilities under MGNREGA, rehabilitation of shop owners affected by modernization of General Bus Stand, upgradation of roads in Channi Himmat, settlement of SRO-43 cases, among others.

Northern Zonal Accountancy Training Institute employs association, ALL J&K Works Supervisor Association, Wine Traders Association, J&K Medical Employees Association, Border United Front, Panun Kashmir delegation and Laghu Bharatiya Group of Industries, 10+2 contractual lecturers, West Pak refugees and PoJK Displaced Persons were among the many delegations who called on the Advisor during the public outreach programme.

He asked the concerned officers for ensuring proper implementation and monitoring of various initiatives being undertaken by the government in different sectors so that the people get benefits of various welfare schemes, thereby, minimizing the public grievances.

The Advisor, while responding to the demands and problems of the delegations sought status report and issued on-spot instructions to the concerned Heads of Departments to resolve the concerns of the delegations at the earliest.

Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma, Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kumar and Officers of line departments were present in the camp.

Pertinently, the Advisor to Governor, B.B Vyas would be available for public hearing between 10.00 am and 12.00 Noon on Fridays at Convention Centre/ Hall, Canal Road, Jammu.
