Ang: Militants lobbed a grenade on a patrolling party near Goriwan area of South Kashmir’s Bijbehara resulting in the injuries of at least five troopers.
Sources said that militants hurled a grenade that exploded with a bang leaving at least five Central Reserve Police Forces personnel. Witnesses added that shortly after the blast they heard gun shots as well that created panic in the area.
A police official said that four troopers were injured in the blast and all are stable. He identified the injured troopers as Omindar Singh, Pankajh Kumar, Nitin Kumar, B. Kumar and Yoginder Singh all from 90 Battalion CRPF.
Forces cordoned off the area and search operation was launched to nab the militants.
Meanwhile, militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba while claiming the responsibility of the grenade attack said that five Forces personnel were injured in the attack.
