Anantnag: Life was crippled due to strike in this south Kashmir town and adjoining areas, where two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were killed by security forces at Lal Chowk on Wednesday in an encounter which ensued during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO).
Khudwani, the home town of one of the two slain militants, also observed a strike while it was partially in Kulgam.
Life elsewhere in the south Kashmir, including Pulwama, Shopian and other areas, was normal.
Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the road in this town and adjoining areas though there was no strike call. Work in government offices and banks was also affected due to strike. Additional security forces remained deployed in the town and other sensitive areas to prevent any law and order problem. However, situation was normal in Bijbehara and Khanabal. Traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, passing through south Kashmir, was plying normally.
Business and other activities were affected at Khudwani and adjoining areas. Traffic was also off the roads. Partial strike was observed in Kulgam.
