Jammu: An accused, being produced in the court for an hearing, escaped from police custody in the court in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“An accused lodged in district jail Rajouri had a hearing at Samba court this morning,” a senior police official here said.
The official said that the accused was to be produced in the court but just before hearing, he gave police party, accompanying him from Rajouri, the slip. The accused has been identified as Balbir Singh, resident of Kathua.
“Action has been initiated against the police personnel who shifted the accused to the court while manhunt is launched to apprehend him,” police added.
