Srinagar: PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that a stable and democratic Pakistan was in the best interests of India.
“Hoping today’s election in Pakistan leads to a stable government as a democratic Pakistan is in the best interests of its neighbourhood especially India. #PakistanElections2018,” tweeted Mehbooba.
Parliamentary elections was underway in Pakistan on Wednesday with voting going on at 85000 polling stations for 272 seats of the national assembly.
A fierce battle is expected between Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led by Nawaz Sharif’s brother and former Pakistan Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
