Srinagar: A minor boy died due to drowning in a stream in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The deceased was identified as Syed Hanan, a resident of Dangerpora Sopore of Baramulla district. Hanan drowned in a nallah at Puhru near Babgund while taking bath along with other local boys. The minor boy was at his relatives’ home when the incident happened.
An eye witness said the minor’s body was retrieved later from the nallah by locals. Police has also registered a report into drowning incident.
