Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man was Tuesday killed after militants attacked the forces naka in Batamallo area of Srinagar.
Police said that the militants attacked the forces near Fire and Emergency Services headquarters here in Batamaloo, which left one trooper injured.
They said that the injured trooper was later shifted to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
“Terrorists fired at SFs naka near Batmaloo, CRPF man injured . Shifted to hospital. Details will follow,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
Soon after shifting the injured trooper to the hospital, the state police said that the CRPF personnel succumbed to his injuries, saying that the area is under cordon to nab the attackers.
“CRPF jawan attained martyrdom in the terror incident at Batamaloo today. Area is under cordon. Further details will follow,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
Meanwhile, Hizb operational spokesman, Burhan-ud-din in a tele-statement to KNS claimed the responsibility of the attack, saying that two troopers were killed while many were injured in the attack. (KNS)
