Srinagar: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Swayam Prakash Pani on Monday promoted 257 policemen from SG Constable to the rank of Head Constables in Jammu and Kashmir police.
A police spokesperson said a Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) which met under the chairmanship of Pani, for promotion of SG Constable to the rank of Head Constables of Executive wing of J&K Police having lien and seniority with Kashmir Zone.
“With this, a total number of 232 SG Constables have been brought on promotion list-C 2018 for their promotion to the rank of Head Constables,” the spokesperson said.
He added that in addition 25 promotion cases in different ranks have also been cleared in the special DPC.
