Srinagar: Government Forces on Monday resorted to aerial firing to disperse protesters who pelted stones on them during a cordon and search operation at Rathsuna Tral village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports said that government forces cordoned off the village after they received inputs about the presence of militants there. As the search operation was launched, local youth hit to roads and clashed with Forces. They pelted stones to disrupt search operation while in retaliation; the Forces fired couple of rounds in air to disperse them.
The search operation was conducted despite clashes; however, no contact with militants was established.
