Srinagar: The father of senior journalist Khurshid Wani passed away on Monday after brief illness. He was 75.
Ghulam Hasan Wani who was a government employee was the native of Devar area of Tral town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The departed soul was a social activist and a humble soul. Khurshid Wani, his son is associated with ‘The Poineer’ and a renowned journalist. Journalist fraternity has expressed grief over the demise of Wani and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
Thousands of mourners participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased at his native Devar village. The mourners including Sikhs visited mourners residence and expressed sympathies with the family. Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee President Prof Joginder Singh Shan and Civil Society Tral also expressed sorrow over the demise of Ghulam Hasan Wani.
Meanwhile, Secretary Information, Sarmad Hafeez has condoled the demise of Ghulam Hassan Wani, father of senior journalist Khursheed Ahmad Wani.
Sarmad Hafeez while expressing solidarity with the bereaved family has prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, the officers and officials of the Department of Information and Public Relations have also condoled the demise and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
