In a statement, the Forum said that Government of India hell bent to suppress voice of journalism in Jammu and Kashmir by adopting ‘different tactics.’
The Editors Forum said the summoning of Aqib Javed, by NIA at its New Delhi office was a “ploy to frighten the journalist fraternity of Kashmir.”
“The freedom of press is violated by pressurizing media persons or either imposing curbs on publications,” it said.
Over fragile position of journalism in Jammu and Kashmir, the Forum said that “it is almost a very difficult task to pursue the norms of a free press in this state.” (KNS)
