Srinagar: Chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) on Saturday said that ‘the Indian Army has yet again kept its tradition of cowardice alive by harassing, intimidating and even arresting family members of freedom fighters.’
“Just recently the family members of slain Zaid, Abu Muaz, Shahid-ul-Islam and Bashir Lashkari were arrested and subjected to torture,” LeT spokesman, Dr. Abdullah Ghazanwi quoted the outfit chief, Mahmood Shah said in an e-mailed statement issued to KNS.
“Their homes were ransacked and even the elderly were not spared. The honor of the mothers, sisters and daughters are of utmost importance to us. We will never let anyone jeopardize the honor of our people,” he said.
Shah warned that “the families of freedom fighters must be kept out of such atrocities otherwise India will have to face severe consequences.” (KNS)
