Srinagar: Advisor to Governor B B Vyas Thursday chaired to meeting to discuss the provisions of Ladakh and Kargil Hill Development Council Acts.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Home, R K Goyal, Commissioner Secretary Health & Medical Education, Commissioner Secretary GAD, Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Secretary Rural Development, Secretary Ladakh Affairs, Secretary Law, Director General Codes, Director General Planning, Director Budget and other senior officers of various departments.
Deputy Commissioners of Leh and Kargil participated in the meeting through video-conferencing.
The meeting discussed various issues related to the Hill Development Council and the demands being projected by the Council like the provision of putting the funds of centrally sponsored schemes directly at the disposal of the council besides also having the provision of electing Deputy Chief Executive Councilor, leader of opposition and also having more controlling power of the employees working in these Hill Councils.
The meeting also discussed the issue of demand for granting more financial powers to the Council.
The meeting discussed these issues threadbare and called for further deliberations with all the stakeholders and the concerned departments.
