Shopian/July, 10: clashes erupted Tuesday morning between the protestors and the government forces in Kundalan village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district during which four youth were injured
Reports said that youth took to streets and hurled rocks at the forces deployed in the village after a gunfight erupted in the area. The forces responded by firing live ammunition, pellets and tear gas to chase away the protesters.
Locals said said that four injured youth were brought to district hospital Shopian. “One of them had a bullet injury in his leg. He was referred to Bone and Joints Hospital Barzulla while the three others were referred to SMHS hospital for specialized treatment,” said an official at District hospital Shopian .
The exchange of fire between the militants and the forces was on when this report was being filed.
Clashes have erupted in adjoining Pulwama village as well.
