Srinagar/July,1: The annual Amarnath Yatra Sunday morning resumed after two days as yatris from the two base camps were allowed to move to amarnath cave . As already reported the yatra was suspended due to heavy rains in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions of the state.Situated 12,756 feet above sea-level, the holy amarnath cavve houses an ice stalagmite structure that waxes and wanes with the phases of moon. Yatris believe the ice stalagmite structure symbolises mythical powers of Lord Shiva.

An official said the movement of yatris from the Baltal base camp towards the holy amarnath cave was scheduled to start at 5 am but after reviewing the situation it was allowed  at around 7 am. Officials deployed for Yatra duty at Baltal base camp said  the two landslides which had hit the Balta yatra track at Brarimarag and Matha-theekry were cleared after which yatris were allowed to move by foot towards the amarnath cave.He said that around 7000 yatris left for the cave in separate batches.
