Srinagar: A couple and their two children and a driver were killed and three others injured when a cab (taxi) met with an accident in north Kashmir district of Bandipora on Sunday, official sources said.
A Tata Sumo Cab on way to Bandipora from border town of Gurez skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge at Shaktool Trangbal resulting in injuries to eight persons.
However, the rescue operation was immediately launched, they said adding the injured were rushed to hospital where five of them were declared brought dead.
The deceased were identified as Sajjad Ahmad Lone, his wife Rubeena Begum, son Moin Sajjad and daughter Arjuman Sajjad, resident of Kangan Ganderbal. Driver Mohammad Iqbal Sheikh, a resident of Sardab Gurez also lost his life in the accident, they said.
