Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested a man allegedly involved in creating a fake website of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank.
A police spokesperson said the accused was arrested in a case FIR No 14/2018 under section 419 RPC, 66C Information Technology Act at Police Station Kothi Bagh related to cyber crime and cheating. “The case was registered on 11-03-2018 after a written complaint was received from Khursheed Muzafar, Chief Information Security Officer of J&K bank,” the spokesperson said.
He claimed that during the course of investigation, two persons Ilyas Ahmad Mir, a resident of Brazloo, Kulgam and Junaid Bashir, a resident of Dal Hassanyaar, Habba Kadal, Srinagar were found to be involved in creating a fake website of J&K Bank for some ulterior motives.
“One of the accused Junaid Bashir was arrested yesterday. Further investigation in the case is going on,” he added.
