Leh: Executive Councilor (EC) Agriculture Tsering Wangdus Tuesday chaired a meeting to discuss present power scenario in district Leh with the engineers of PDD and NHPC.
EC Power Gyal P Wangyal, EC Tourism Tsering Sandup, Councilor Upper Leh Ven. Lobzang Nyantak, Superintending Engineer PDD Leh Ghulam Ahmed Mir, engineers of PDD, and NHPC were also present.
He sought the detailed position of the power supply by NHPC and PDD and gave directions to the concerned to work in coordination to solve any technical issue for the convenience of the general public by supplying uninterrupted power supply.
The EC said it is necessary to take concrete steps to curb the faults for uninterrupted power supply.
The meeting was informed that in addition to technical faults, reasons like strong winds, the collision of heavy vehicles with electric poles are also among reasons for power cuts.
The chair was assured that every possible effort is made to provide uninterrupted power supply to people.
On the occasion, EC Sandup inquired about the work on up gradation of Hunder hydel project station from 750KV to 1500 KV to which he was updated that the work is in progress and it is expected to be completed in a months’ time.
