Srinagar, Jun 26: Train service resumed on Tuesday after remaining suspended for a day due to security reasons in the Kashmir valley in view of shutdown call given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) against the civilian killings in Kashmir.
“We have resumed all train runs today in the Kashmir valley,” a senior railway official said.
He said a fresh advisory was received from police last night to resume train service on all routes.
Therefore, he said, trains will run on Srinagar-Budgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir track as per schedule.
This was the third time train service was suspended in the Kashmir valley since the imposition of Governor’s rule in the state following resignation by then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti after its alliance partner BJP pulled out from the government.
