Srinagar: Police registered a case against an unknown tipper driver after he mowed down an elderly woman to death in Khanyar area of Srinagar city.
A police official said that Jawahira Begum, an elderly woman was passing through the road when a speedy tipper crushed her to death near Dastgeer Sahab (RA) Shrine in Khanyar Srinagar.
The deceased was the wife of late Ghulam Nabi Khan, a resident of Mir Masjid Khanyar.
“A case has been registered and efforts are on to nab the accused driver,” said Station House Officer Khanyar Parvez Ahmed.
