War or dialogue, choice lies with the BJP: Karra

Srinagar: Senior Congress leader and former Parliament member Tariq Hamid Karra on Sunday said that war or dialogue are the only two options and it is for the BJP to choose either of the two and better it would be for BJP not to try to make Jammu and Kashmir a vote minting machine ahead of Amarnath Yatra to be followed by 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

According to the KNS correspondent, addressing a press conference Tariq Hamid Karra said that BJP is trying to make situation in Jammu and Kashmir explosive for furthering its agenda for 2019 Lok Sabha elections and such tendencies are not in national interest but against the national interest.
Saying that he salutes those civil society groups and people of intelligentsia who advise Modi government to review its Kashmir policy, Karra said “not only me but people in BJP and RSS too talk about the necessity for a dialogue for restoration of peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Claiming that Mehbooba Mufti didn’t resign on her own but was asked to step down, the senior Congress leader said “few national channels are unleashing a propaganda to create apprehensions about attacks on Amarnath Yatra and I wonder how few selected channels know about the possible attacks on Yatra and others don’t know it. The BJP is trying to make Jammu and Kashmir a vote minting machine and set a subversive agenda for 2019 Lok Sabha elections.” Saying that BJP is trying to use Pakistan also as a ploy for 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Karra said “BJP talks of war but who stops BJP and Narendra Modi from war. Talk to Pakistan or wage a war against that country if you believe that talks and terrorism can’t go together. In my opinion dialogue is the only way and better to initiate dialogue as early as possible in the larger national interest.”
Over the controversial remark of senior BJP leader and MLA Chowdhary Lal Singh, the former member parliament Tariq Hamid Karra said “he is a disruptive element and most unpredictable man in BJP who does not know what to talk and what not to talk. I am sure he would be repenting on what he said about the killing of veteran journalist Shujaat Bukhari and threat to Kashmir media. His statement proves it beyond doubt that plan to kill Shujaat Bukhari has been designed somewhere outside the state and the role of militants in the killing of Bukhari has been ruled out by Lal Singh himself. If any untoward incident happens tomorrow the BJP and its men would be squarely blamed for that.” (KNS)
